7. Modal Verbs

 Modal verbs are auxiliary (helping) verbs used to express things like ability, permission, possibility, necessity, advice, and obligation.

Modal	Main use	Example
can	ability / permission	I can swim.

Negative form: can: cannot / can't

May is mainly used for permission, especially in formal or polite situations.
